Assignment Diego and the Issue of Superconductivity
Jaxon Reed's Occasional Newsletter for 12-7-21
Science fiction, even space opera, needs fuel for the creative fire. In that regard, I do like to keep an ear to the rails on interesting research that has potential for Changing the World As We Know It. One of the big things to keep an eye on is superconductivity.
In a nutshell, when electrons travel along a conduit, friction slows things down. Physicists have a holy grail of finding material that offers frictionless conductivity at room temperature.
Potential benefits include extremely long distance power transmission, faster computers and mag lev trains.
While research is ongoing, it only takes a spark of imagination to use a scientific concept like this and expound on its applications in some future society . . .
Speaking of which, the third book in Star League Assassins is out, Assignment Diego. We have a new bad guy, the Time Thief, who ends up with the Tartar Gang and Tori in a place called Primordia. Beebo creates a massive distraction while Tori goes to work and . . . well, anymore would be spoilers.
Hope you enjoy. It’s on sale for its debut, as usual.
